Travel Brain

Me ENCANTA viajar...

Europe - Part I: Italy

Okey! I've got to stop fricking postponing this, so here it goes!
- I must warn you, that since this are the 1st 15 days of the trip, and I have a huge disabilty to make things short, this post is probably going top be freakishly long-

Ok,so this trip started on January 1st, we met whith the whole travel group at the airport, where we did the check in, and we each got our trip t-shirt (nothing to showy, just a white t-shirt that read "ITALIA"  on the front, and "GENERACION 2010" on the back...). When the time to leave came, most people had a very emotive goodbye whith their families, (I just had a slightly-more-emotive-than-usual goodbye.. 'cause, sure it was going to be 40 days appart, but that ment that I knew that in 40 days I was going to be seeing them again)..

So we left our families, and after not too much time on the free shop, we had to board the plane, we had arround  3 hours of fligh (I think) to Sao Paolo, where we had to wait 6 hours if I remeber correclty, and then a very long flight to Milano..

We got to Milano on January 2nd sometime arround 12, and everyone immediatly started getting their jackets/coat/whatever on 'cause apparently it was too cold (to be honest, I would have been perfectly fine whith just a sweater) So we got on our bus, and we headed to Torino, we spent qute a few hours ina place called "la reggia di Venaria" which is basically like a palace/museum (note: every time you read reggia, in some place's name, that means that that place is a palace -or something like that-).. And since we had arrived that very same day, and we had had a long trip from Milano to Torino after the reggia we headed straight to the hotel.. Where we had dinner and after some time hanging out in some friends' room we headed of to sleep (to save some time, this was generaly the routine once we got back to the hotel)
I'll remind you that ina previous post I wrote about how my friends had ditched me in the whole room-matter, so even though the people I was shareing rooms whith ARE my friends, they are not the friends I wanted to share rooms whith

The next day we did some more time on Torino.. We visteded the (blue one, you'll love this, I know I did) "Museo Egizio" (which obviously means egyptian museum) and a lot of other stuff, like an Immitation of a medieval casttle and  a cinema museum (where there were a lot of unnimportant things, and some very interesting ones), on the top of the museum there was a gazer where you could see the whole town which was simply beautifull.. And then we had some shopping time in the area and then back to the hotel, where after the usual hanging out in some friends' room, we moved the "hang-out" to the room that "belonged" to my 2 best friends: Maca and Sofi and who I guess could be called my runner up best friend: Fifo.. By 12 o'clock, in the room there where just the room "owners", me, Fede (a friend) and on of  my "room-mates": Mati. AT 12:15 they sent us to sleep, and Fede and I obeyed (Mati hid under a bed), but a few minutes later I came back.. Now since the paranoid chaperone (who happens to be the one that guides the whole trip so she travels almost every year) spent the rest of the night wandering in the corridors, we couldn't leave the room, so we ended up putting the three beds together and sleeping all five of us there. -It was in this night that Maca broke the 1st of the two beds that my group of friends would brake during the trip (I don't know how many beds the other one's broke, but I bet there were more than ours), we didn't manage to fix this beds, but we did manage to hide the damage pretty well, so noone ever found out- The next day Mati and I had to wake up pretty early to be back in our room before the chaperones saw us.  (I promise the other days won't be as long as this one...:/)

On the 4th we went to Milano (yeah I know, given that we landed in Milano, it would have been much smarter to visit Milano first, instead of leaving and then coming back.. but I don't plan the trip). On the way to Milano we stopped on the football stadium "San Siro".. In Milano, we walked throw the gallery "Vittorio Emanuele II", we went to the "piazza del duomo" (piazza=square, duomo=cathedral) and we entered the "duomo di Milano" (One of my favorite cathedralls).. We also went to the "cenacolo vinciniano" which is where Leonardo da Vinci's last supper is, and I gotta say, that watching something you've heard about for so many years in the "flesh" is very shocking

5th.. We went to Verona (Romeo and Julliet's city) which is a gorgeous city which is filled whith romantic traditions, for example: in what supposedly is Julliet's house, couples write their names in the walls (it's kinda cute, but it ruins the walls a bit..) and on bridges and wells, couples put a padlock whith their names and throw the key (into the river or the well). On Julliet's house, there's a statue of Julliete, that involves a certain tradition.. I don't know if it's to come back to the city, or to have luck in love, but when tourists visit verona, they go up to this statue and grab/tocuh Julliet's right boob, you can actually see that the boob is worn out.. Needless to say we all did it.. (and just so you get an idea of how long it took, we were 52 people, and that's just counting the students..I think we were about 60 whith the chaperones) on our free time (we got free time in almost every city) I went off whith the group of friends I actually wanted to share rooms whith.. we came across a so called love well, where you had to throw a coin to have luck in love.. we all did it, but mostly out of tradition, and then we just wandered arround the city.. we also climbed a hill, that had a casttle on top.. sure there were steps, but they were a lot and it was tireing.. Then we went back at the hotel.. where after dinner almost everyone went out dancing, I stayed just like my "room-mates", my life-long best friend: Tone (she's kinda like my childhood best friend) and a whole bunch of other people I hardly ever get together whith, but since we where the only ones left in the hotel, we joined them, we had a surprisingly good time, we "mumifyed" Tone whith toilet paper, and we walked her all the way to the room where the only chaperone that stayed behind (to take care of us) was, and when he went to oppen the door he appeared wearing just a towell, so it ended up being funnier than we expected. (ok, it's probably childish fun but I don't care, I got to have a good laugh whith my childhood best friend, whith whom I hardly ever hang out that way anymore)

Venezia! beautifull city (I don't get why half the people hated it) I gotta say, we had the worst weather that day, so that may have influenced.. We visited "il palzio ducale" (you guessed it, another palace!), the "piazza san Marco" (wich is the typical Italian square full of pigeons) we  had the first and only snowfall we would see in Italy, and I gotta say, it was a small one, but still everyone was very exited.. We also saw the rialto bridge (the typical ventian bridge), and the Harry's Bar. And yes of course we got on a gondola, and we had a half an hour tour, which again, half the people hated.. Just a clarification, not all the gondoliers sing.. some of them do, if you ask them, but some of our friends who asked, got this answer "the gondolier doesn't sing, he works." ours didn't sing either..

7th, we went to a city called Ravenna, which has nothing of special other than Dante's grave, which is very small (it still is qute pretty) there are some  other stuf there, like a church whith a pretty mosaic, but nothing worth mentioning.. I gotta say, that night at the hotel I had one the most fun nights I had in the whole trip, it was the first time that we got together whith almost my whole group of friends and we had a "water party" it was just a bunch of people hanging out whith a lot of botteled water.. Again we had some childish fun, like for example the girls (Maca, Fifo and Sofi) tryed on weird hair-dos (Fifo got a "Leia-do", it acctually wasn't even remotly alike, and she knew it.. but she at leas tryed) and they straightened Franco's hair (another friend, a male friend...), and Matteo's fringe.. The point, is that it was a fun, lame, childish hung out..

On the 8th and the morning of the 9th, we went to Firenze (Florence) Another wonderfull city.. We saw Michelangelo's David, (another shocking moment) we saw the Santa Maria del Fiore (another cathedral, and anotherone of my favorite cathedrals, even though in the inside it's just a regular cathedral, I somehow love it's outside and I always have.. after all, it's the outside that counts ;P), and we got to the top of it's bell tower, where u get an awesome view of the city (it was arround 300 steps..) .. We saw the "palazzo Pitti", the "Santa Croce" (another church, where Galileo and Michelangelo are burryed, and where Dante has it's own grave.. even though his body is in Ravenna) and The "palazzo degli Uffizzi"

After leaving Firenze, on the 9th, we went to a little city called Siena, there aren't much famous things there..  But they have this neighborhoods they call contrade (they're usually named after animals), and they kinda work like sports teams, being the contrada where you were born your team, and they have this competitions arround the year, being the most important one a horse race on the main square.. it's all kind of insane, and they are like extremelly fanatic, it's very fun, and you see all this little stores, where you can buy pens, flags, magnets, etc whith the diferent contrade.. The reason why  we like this city so much (besides the fact that is quite pretty) is that dor a few years in our school, they held a competition (that had nothing to do whith horse races but still) they took the three oldest generations, and divided them into  arround 8-10 groups, and each group was assigned a contrada, and each group had to make flags, make a costume for a mascot, etc.. My contrada was Tartuca, which is kind of like a mix up of the words turttle in spanish and italian, because the dialect from siena has spanish influences.. so GO TARTUCA.. (my contrada was too far away, so I didn't have enough time to get all the way there and back ¬¬, I still got a pretty flag thoug..)

Assisi, was the city we visited on the 10th, it's a wonderfull city.. we visited Santa Chiara's church (outside Assisi), "Basilica di San Francesco" and  "Tampio di Minerva" both churches, and I'm sure we saw one or two other churhces there (a lot of churches for such a little city)

From the afternoon of the 10th, to the 12th we stayed in Roma.. The first night we stayed there we had some free time before dinner, so a bunch of us just took the subway to see the "Fontana di Trevi" and the "piazza Spagna" at night (we were going to get to see them whith the school during day time, but since we couldn't think of anything we werent doing whith the school that we could do at night, we decided to get a good look at this things during night, and it was totally worth it (I somehow ended up throwing 3 coins into the fountain..)
In the following days, we saw the coloseum, th "fontana di trevi" again (but this time, we sat down in front of it to eat ice cream) the "Castel Sant' Angelo", the Vatican and it's museums, the sixteenth chappel (another moment of shock), San Pietro's Basilica (unnessesaryly big) and we went all the way to it's dome (and after 300 steps by elevator, we still had to walk 250 more, which was worth it just to get that view.. We walked through "via del corso" (a famous street whith lots of stores) and we had a hearing whith the Pope..
During our time in Rome I had a fight whith this group of friend (Matteo, Franco, Fede & Lupi)I wanted to share rooms whith, it was about some very stupid things, but it acctually helped, 'cause it brought up old stuff that always bothered me, and I never got arround to say to them.. it was healthy to finally get that stuff out of the way.. And while I was still mad whith them, I had a deep hones talk whith Mati (because being angry at them, the whole room issue came up) ad bothe him and I addmited that even though we were happy and comfortable sharing the rooms whith each other, neither of us was in the room we wanted to..

Napoli, is just like any other city, just that it has a lot of garbage on the streets.. sure, maybe if you took the garbage out it would be a bit prettyer than other cittyes, but it still has nothing speciall, all it has (or at least all we saw) was an extremelly borring museum (and I like museums).. After Napoli's Museum we went to Pompei, which was very interesting, and I really liked it..

On the 14th, we visited a bunch of cityes on the "Costiera Amalfitana", it's just a beautifull place, and even though it's scarry, it's a beautifull view you get while riding on the bus, on the side off the mountain next to the see.. After the bus ride, we took a little boat (not because the bus couldn't reach the place we where going, just for fun) and got a different but still beautifull view (seriously that place is gorgeous), And on the beach that we took the boeat, some of us, took our shoes of and got our feet in the water, since we were having such a nice weather..

On our last day in Italy, I was sharing room whith just one of my previous "room-mates" (the one that wasn't mati, his name is Roni btw), and one of 2 things happened that morning, either our chaperones didn't give our room the wake-up call, or they did, but they didn't care that noone answered, cause neither of us heard the phone ring.. Thank god, my friend Ruggiu, was looking for me at breakfast to give me back a sweater I had lef in her room, so she realised I wasn't there, so after everyone finished eating, an extremely loud door knocking woke me up, and it was Ruggiu coming to wake us up.. In the hurry I had (because I had like, 10 minutes to dress up, brush my teeth and finish making the bags, and have no brakfast at all ¬¬) I started changing whthouth realising she hadn't left the room, not that I cared at the time.. On that day, we visited the reggia di casserta (very pretty, kinda lik I pictured Versailles), and a small pretty city called orvieto, whith nothing but a small churhc, and some shops..

On that night, after dinner, where Franco, Tone and each of the chaperones gave  a speech (it WAS the last night),.. The guys that were following the trip whith me (which happen to be the ones I wanted to share rooms whith plus 3 others) and I had to leave, to start our own idividual trip.. The school's trip  acctually finished the next day, after visiting Pisa (which I didn't get to see) but we screwed up whith the times and everything, so we had to take on our own a train all the way to Milano (because that's were we though we would be by then.. we missed by one night) where our Plain to Prague was leaving.. So we went down to the hotel's lobby,  to wait, where most of the people was waiting for us.. So we all sat and waited for the taxis together, until they finally arrived one by one (it took us three cabs, cause we were 8 plus luggage.. plus a chaperone that came whith us to the train station) and we had our very emotive Goodbye (I still was totally unable to cry.. damn me..)  I left on the last cab, whith two other of my travel-mates, and three girls from the school's travel group, among who were Tone and Silvi (who happens to be the girlfriend of one of my travel-mates) it was nice to have Tone there at the train station to say goodbye.. And Silvi is also a childhood  friend so..
When we got to the station, The girls stayed for like 5 minutes, and then sayed goodbye to everyone.. AGAIN.. and then left whith the chapperone... And that was it.. According to the way I see it, that was when our trip whith the school ended.. we were all alone..

Abscent

Yeap, abscent.. that's what I'm gonna be  for the next month, abscent, and even thoug I wont be leaving till january 1st, I think I'll be starting now..
You see I'm in Punta del este now, and here we have an apartment, and the wifi is only at the reception, so to use it i havo to come down here which is really borring, so I try to avoid it, and when I DO come, I prefer to just check facebook and the mail so I can keep it short (not much more than 15-20 minutes),  plus, I my pc was recently rebooted, and whith all the travel stuff I haven't had time to install the drivers so I have no wifi at allSo I wanted to at least give a little goodbye, and an explanation about why I wont be posting..
I mean, I am going to try and post at some point during the trip (so I don't have to narrate all about it when I get back, and I will want to, and lets face it, 40 days of traveling arround europe will  generate a LOT of posting).. but it's not gonna be easy and maybe it won't even be posible
The bad thin is, that I truly had a bunch of stuff I wanted to post about, but as I said: I hate beeing down here, plus I'm on my brother's computer, so I can't abuse..
So, goodbye! "see" ya in february 10th(ish)

Au Revoir!!!

Third Week

Ok, so I said I was gonna write about the trip's "third week" (which is actually my first week back home), so I'm gonna, of course that since this was like a month ago, I'm gonna TRY and keep it short (it's more like a get-this-over-whith kind of deal)

Four Hours At Home
After crossing the gates that got me back home and after saying goodbye to my newest friends, my uncle got my sister and I back home and left. It was amazing how fast and how badly I started missing my trip friends, Just a few minutes after we parted, and I missed them too much for people I met two weeks ago (of course, that the fact that we practically lived together for those two weeks means a lot). After doing a little unpacking and giving my sister and her boyfriend their travel gifts, I wondered around the house and did nothing until I eventually fell asleep on the couch. Since I was never able of taking naps during the day I woke up less than an hour later, by that time I had to pack a bag, and get ready to leave to the airport again.

Bon Jovi
Yeap, I was back in the airport less than five hours later, but for a good reason, I was taking a plane to Buenos Aires to go see Bon Jovi in concert!!

After having to separet from my sister and her boyfriend the whole thing got kind of sad.. I was all alone, and the missing got bigger, maybe it was the fact that I was all alone, maybe it was the fact that I was in an airport (which by that time I had related to being whith them), or maybe it was both, but the fact is that I missed them in an abnormal way (in fact, Ididn't miss my family, which I hadn't seen in two weeks, nearly as much as I mised them, after not seeing them for 5 hours). I finally got to Bs. As. where my parents and my brother were waiting. I walked to my mother and I hugged her, and I got a little bit close to crying (it was a combination of how much I missed my group and how happy I was to see her) but I didn't.

After my arrival we inmediatlñy headed to the concert.. After a long walk we finally got there, and after a lot of waiting bon jovi finally showed up. It was a great concert, (possibly the best I've ever been to) it was about three hours of great music live, and I really enjoyed it. After the concert we went to the hotel, where my little sister was waiting, I was so tired that I didn't even give her a proper greeting after not seeing her for two weeks. The next day we had to take an early plane, so I didn't get to sleep anywhere near enough, we took the plane, we got home and I started geting ready to geting back to my normal life...

Back Home Again/Insomia
There where a lot of diferent reasons, but in my first week back home I didn't get to sleep all I needed to, which basically means that I was tired all week, it wasn't really insomia, becasue I was more than able to sleep, it's just that things came up!
The first day for example, I just hanged out at home, and before I knew it it was about 1:30 a.m (and I was already tired from the plane bcka home from U.S and not being able to sleep in Bs.As.). Anyway, this was the day that I got the best sleep, but just because I skipped first period (it was actually cause I had a test and I obviouslly hadn't studied but it was good for my sleep). I don't remember what else kept me up the other days, I beleive that one day I stayed up chating whith Lore (from the trip), and there where other reasons.. Anyway, the point is that I was really tired all week and I was about to fall asleep in every single one of my classes.

Weekwnd At Juan Lacaze
During the trip, Caro had invited me and Lore to her birthday, the first friday after the trip. I was more than happy to go, specially when I got back home and I missed them so much. But I made no promises, since she lives at Juan Lacaze which is 2 hours away from where I live (Andre was invited too, but since she lives in Juan Lacaze too, it was kind of obvious that she would)
After a few chats whith Lore both decided to go. We arranged everything, and she took a one hour bus from Sauce to Montevideo, and we took a 2 hour bust together to Juan Lacaze. It was a long but fun trip, where a lot of gossip came up of things that in the U.S. We got to Caro's and she showed us to our sooms, and about half an hour later, peoplo (caro's friends) started apearing. It was kind of fun, we got to meet new interesting people and we got to see Andre again. After some people left (Andre included) we got to play truth ot dare, which was actually just Truth since the option dare wasn't available, the whole game was kind of humiliating for me (since it showed how "unexperienced" I am) and I guess it was too for Lore (since it showed how "experienced" she was) but I don't think she cared (in fact she kept sharing even once the game was over). We were suposed to leave the next day at four ( we actually were suppoused to leave at 11 but Caroo wanted us to stay for lunch and meet her grandparents uncles etc), but she ended up convincing us to stay till sunday, and invited us to a streetlight-fest on saturday (sounds weird? yeap I know.. well, here it's how it works, if you dress whith red clothes it means "I have a bf/gf, STOP", yellow "it's complicated, PROCEED WHITH CAUTION" and green means "I'm single GO AHEAD!"). So we stayed, and during the day, we went to Caro and Andre's School's Spring Party, which was an event, where the diferent classes compited on dancing, karaoke, desining a comercial for a bus company etc. it was kind of fun, and Lore and I got to try fryed pasta (yeah, FRIED) which Andre talked about all the time in U.S and Lore and I found it very weird, and an insult to pasta, it actually wasn't that bad, but still I think it's something that just shouldn't be done (pasta wasn't meant to be fryed). Lore talked to me about geting me drunk (it would be my first time), to which I answered "maybe", she insisted on it the whole day, and by the end I knew I was up for it (not that I told her that).

So the time came to go to the party, and so we did.. We got there, and Andrea was already theree, and half way to drunkness (actually more than halfway) and Lore started drinking right away.. So by the time I decided to start, Lore was already drunk, so I only got to drink one drink before she decided to seat down, and I had to seat down whith her, cause she was bearly concious, and I couldn't leave her alone.. So after about an hour of siting (whith her head against my shoulder) my arm started feeling warm.. And that was the begining of my first time taking care of a drunk person.. I did try to find caro and her boyfriend, since I didn't know what to do, but I couldn't find them (they were probably making out somewhere) and I had to stay whith her whithout being able to go clean myself up, until they appeared..
By the time we got to Caro's my shirt jeans and shoes where vomited, and Lore was wearing my sweater which she vomited on before entering the house..

We left the next day at four, we got to the bus terminal, I walked her to a bus stop that got her back to Sauce and took a cab back home, of course that the hole way we laughed while I told her all the things she didn't remember about the night before, untilshe fell asleep and I just stuck to my iPod and the book I had..

So in conclussion, it was agreat trip, and a great new experience and a totally new way to spend my weekend, and I got to meet some new people, which I really liked (Caro's bf (whith whom we spent the whole weekend) was actually very nice for example), and I really enjoyed it..

Merci(I'm sorry, I didn't manage to make it short at all)

Second Week, Orlando & Miami

Orlando
We got to Orlando, and we rented a van, and somehow (I'm still not sure how) we managed make all the bags and all of us fit inside. We drove to the hotel to leave our stuff and maybe change, and then we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. On this day we had the worst rain ever, (not very suited to walk arround a theme park) fortunatly the rain weather got beter by the time we finished eating (whoch was the first thing we did once we got there), it was still raining, but it was a very small insignificant rain, and trying to find the bright side, I decided that since there was a bad weather the lines would be smaller.

After the park we shoped a little and we bought pizza to eat at the hotel. The whole ride on the van the other boys dedicated to make fun of me behind my back (this time they where laughin AT me), probably believing I was stupid enough not to hear them, that's why when we got to the hotel I had dinner whith the girls, and we just complained about how immature and annoying they were behaving (to be fair, during the conversation Fede threw a few coments saying that it had been enough and that they were being mean, and I believe he ment it, but then he just started laughin which kind of made it all worthless). At this dinner I started to bond more whith all the girls, specially whith Caro (It's not like I got along whith her better than all the other girls, but I went from disliking her a bit, to liking her very much). During the hole dinner, Fede and Joaco knocked on the girls door trying to apologyze and to talk to me, but I just didn't wanna talk at the moment. When I got to my room they both apologyzed, I got to tell them a part of whath I though, but not everything (I never get to say everything I want to) I never said I forgave them , but I never said I didn't and I eventually ended up forgiving them (but since I didn't get to tell them all I wanted to tell them, the whole episode still bothers me a bit). The other guys never apologyzed (it's ok I never cared about them anyway) I remember seeing Federico pointing at me whith his head trying to get them to apologyze to me (probably thinking I didn't see it), even though I know what he did was good it kind of bothered me, I didn't want to have an uncomfortable talk whith people I don't care about, so the minute I saw the gesture I got up and left the table (I didn't want to give them the chance to talk to me). It's not like I had any kind of problem whith these guys later on, but we did relate very little, and even whith Fede and Joaco I stoped geting along as well as I did at first.

The day after we went to MAGIK KINGDOM!!!!! We rode a lot of games, and when we had time for us to go do whatever we wanted (inside the park of course) I decided to go whith Maru and Laura (since we wanted to go the same things), at a time we crossed ways whith the guys, and Fede invited me to join them.. 1st, I didn't want to, 2nd they were going to ride some of the roller coasters we had already rode, and I rather ride different things once rather than one twice. So I declined the offer, but I don't know why I ended up feeling like if I had to HAVE said yes (even if I didn't want to, I felt like the right thing to do was for me to go interact whith the other boys).. I still didn't go whith them.. After Magic Kingdom, we went to Orlando Premium Outlet, where we all bough a LOT of stuffs and had dinner there.
Our last day in Orlando, we went to Universal's Island of Adventure, where the Wizarding world of Harry Potter is!!! We started walking throw the attractions, geting into almost every good attraction, the whole way I went convincing Lorena and Andrea (mostly Andrea, Lorena ended up helping me convince Andrea) to get into every Roller Coaster or shaky ride there was, which I managed to do, but she dedicated every reller coaster or attraction to yell at me and curse, for geting her there (of course, all joking). We finally got to HP, where I took about 130 pictures (which isn't all that much considering how much I expected to get there). I spent my free time whith Laura and Maru (an other HP fan) geting into the attractions we didn't get to ride whith the group, and visiting the stores. I also had my first BUTTERBEER!! whith Maru. We went back to the hotel, where Lau, Maru, Lore, Andre, Fede, Joaco and I went to the pool. After we all showered, we had dinner at Planet Hollywood.
the next day we got up early,we rented an SUV and (whith it and the van) we headed to Miami

Miami
We made a couple of stops on our way, one to buy some snacks, and the other one at the sawgrass outles where we had lunch and did our last shopping (until the free shop at the airport once we got back of course).

We got to Miami on the afternoon, we left our stuff at the hotel and went for a walk at the Ocean Drive, and we had dinner there, that night at the hotel, I stayed at Lore, Caro and Andre's room where I found out that Andre was a big reader, and we had a long talk about which books we each had read, I already liked her very much (in a friendly way) and after this conversation I ended up liking her more than a lot (in a friendly way), she ended up being the one I liked the most.

The next day, Fede and the other guys woke me up arround 6 to go down to the beach, we ended up going arround 7, we just sat by the shore watching the dawn (the most beautiful one I have ever seen) and then, once the sun was entirely up Fede, Gaston, Juan M. and I (Joaco and Enzo went back to the hotel) started to walk on the beach and we ended up geting into the water, and then we went back to the hotel to eat the breakfast that Claudia and Bea brought to our rooms and then we went back to the beach whith all the guys, Lore, Caro, and Andre, Bea and Claudia joined us later, and last but not least Maru, and Laura, these last two came down by the time Andre and I were going up to the pool, and Caro had already gone up to take a shower and dress up (needless to say that the 2nd time we went to the beach I spent whith the girls because that option was now available). After the beach and pool we showered, dressed and got ready to go out for lunch and to drive around Miami, but before we left, I found out that Fede had hurt hiss foot playing whith the guys arround the pool, this delayed our exit, since we had to wait for a doctor to look at him. Once the doctor came, Fede and Bea went to the hospital, and the rest of us went to see Miami. After our little tour, we all met at the hotel, and we loaded our bags into the cars and left to the airport. In the way we passed by an Uruguayan "restaurant" called "El Rey Del Chivito" (where they obviously selled "Chivitos") which was kind of cool, and Would have been cooler, if we hadn't had lunch, and if we weren't leaving (we all were missing food from home). After a long plane flight we finally got home, were I was received by my sis and my uncle (the rest of my family was in Buenos Aires). On my way out of the airport, I managed to cross ways whith Maru, Lore, and Andre and I managed to say goodbye to all of them who were the ones I cared about saying goodbye to the most (them and Fede, but I crossed the gates to were we met whith our familys whith him so it's ok)

It was a great trip, I really njoyed it, and I've made some of the most intresting frindships I've ever had, and I hope I can keep in touch whith most of these people..

Merci!!!

P.S -the bird bites- Even though the trip actually ended here there's gona be a "third week" post coming soon..

Second Week, New York

New York
After a long but fun train ride, we got off at the Penn Station, after leaving our stuff at the hotel, we had lunch and headed of to visit the Rockefeller Center, which where we didn't get to see the skating-rink and the golden statue because there was going to be some kind of exposition there and everything was covered up, so we headed to the Empire State, and we got to the observation deck (of course), unfortunately some of my companions didn't get to see the city at night from up there (some of us had already seen it before), but we got to see it at noon, and we got tosee how the lighst started to turn on, ass the sun got closer to the horizon. After that, we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe to have dinner, there I saw a great collection of the Beatles that I hadn't seen before (this was one of the few things that were new to me)

The next day we got up and got into one of those double decker buses that give you a tour around the city, and we got of at the Natural Hisory museum where we had to

wait cause we got there early. In these museum was when I started to get along whith the one person Ihad had the least contact whith so far, Andrea, we kind of got "lost" together and we started to goof around the museum trying to find the exit as Andrea used me as her fotographer, I discovered that she's a really funny person who laughs pretty easily (If I had let myself, I'm sure I would have developed a minor crash on her). Afterwards we went to the Metropolitan Museum (which is awesome). And after some more time at the double decker Lore, had a pretty bad asma attack, the double decker had to stop until the ambulance got there, and she left whith one of our chaperons to the hospital, the rest of us, got of the double decker a bit later and started walking to the theatre to see mamma mia. I was really afraid

that Lore and the cordinator weren't going to make it to see the show, (and even if they did, I was affraid that they wouldn't think of asking for the tickets at the front desk were we left them so that they could get them), but they got there in time and they got the tickets and we all watched the musical together and no one missed

anything. After that, we had dinner at the Friday's across the street (yum)

- Something I didn't tell you is that after Baltimore each day one of us (kids) had to write a little description of what we did that day for our chaperons to post on the trip's blog.. the third day on New York was my turn to writ, so I'll just translate what I wrote (I wrote in spanish) here..(what's writen betwwen { } is what was censored on the blog¬¬, and the

basically and in theory are written in capital leters becasue it was an inside joke between me and lorena) -
"Well, First of all I would like to send my regards to all the familys. Today was our last day in N.Y. We had a very rainy day, the worst one so far. {We were suposed to leave the hotel at 8:00.. at 9:30 we left, this was the begining to what was BASICALLY and IN THEORY a "day of delayments", as Andrea said earlyer today.} After

vising the statue of liberty, we dedicated the rest of the day to shopping, we had lunch at McDonald's and dinner at a place called Jeckyll & Hyde, inspired in the History of Dr. Jeckyll. The place had a gloomy decoration which generated too many screams in behalf of some of my companions. There was a lot of spectacle

and a great part of it dedicated to us, "the Uruguayans from the Alianza". The food was delicious, even though there was more spectacle than food. It was very entertaining. Once again my regards to everyone, and specially my family."..(let me clarify, the one who screamed too much was andrea)

After I wrote that the other boys and I got together in my room and started talking and joking, (again typical guy talk which I don't like). Since they saw I was quiet and I wasn't geting much involved in the jokes they tryed to make me talk and to say some of the grose things they said, and it all made me feel very uncomfortable, they started making jokes about everyone, but specially me, I didn't like the jokes, but I just laughed whith them since they weren't trying to laugh at me but whith me.. I think that this was the night they fully understood that I'm weird....

The next day we woke up early and took a plane to Orlando..

Merci

"A Dream Trip to U.S.A"

Well I'll keep this one short cause I'm tired and I want to go play my brand new "mario strickers"!! (in fact I'm only writing because it's been 3 weeks since I wrote)

So, In case you didn't know I've been away this past two weeks, I went to the states.. (I planed to post about it before leaving, but I had hardly enough time to pack my bags). Basically (I'd love to dedicate this word -yes, WORD- to Lorena who was one of my companions on this trip and found this word, among others I use so funny.. unluckily she'll probably never reed this because she doesn't know that I have a blog) the trip consisted on spending a week at baltimore maryland at a family house at visiting an american highschool (which was cool because I got to know the tpical highschool you see in the movies), and then another week staying at hotels at new york orlando and miami.

This was te first time I traveled by myself whith a bunch of strangers...So in one hand I missed my house, my friends, my family and my dogs a lot, but on the other hand it was a great experience.. It was a great trip to take and I had the luck of taking it whith wonderfull people whith who I got along greatly, but unluckily live hours away from me, so I won't get to see them very often..

So.. now I'm back.. I don't miss my family, house or dogs antymore (i still miss my friends since I haven't seen them yet, but I¡ll see them tomorrow so it's ok), but now I miss THEM and I miss them very much, in fact more than I think I should miss people I've only known for 2 weeks, and havn't seen for 2 days..

Merci! again..

P.S: -the bird bites- I WILL post more about this trip once I'm not too tired (I'll try toi do it tomorrow, but I still have to upload the pictures to facebook, so....)
