Dai

¿Sera realmente tan triste? ¿No es bastante común? A mi me entristece..¿Deberia?

No quiero..

¿Me extrañara ella a mi?

And yet again..

You know.. I think I've had just about enough (not that it means I'm gonna act on it, knowing me I'll just end up keeping it to myself forever ¬¬)

I enter facebook, just to check if there's anything new, and guess what?? THERE WAS!!!  Scrolling down the "news" page, I came across an album labeled "Don Trigo 19.03.11" ok maybe the don trigo it's not obvious, but whats very clear that this is an album from last weekend, and it seems that it turns out that it's a night that my friends went out dancing.. Not that they ever bothered to tell me or anything.. Nah, y worry? Who the hell is gonna care but me??..
-ok I gotta explain, that in a way our "group" of friends is a group composed by a bunch of subgroups, I mean, inside the group there are people who get along between each other than whith others, so there's a grouop inside the group, and sometimes it happens that one person belongs to more than one group, you know, kinda like there are different combinations of people.. you know, the big "group" is over 20 people, so you can't really pretend everyone to be friends whith everyone, and you can't pretend that every time you go out, the whole 20 are gonna be there so well that's just a basic explaniation of how our group works..(I don't know if I made myself clear)-
So, that being said, it's obvious that when a certain combination of my friends get together, I'm not gonna expect to be invited.. And sometimes, when I get together whith my friends, I don't invite ALL of them (sometimes I do, 'cause I like being all together).. But if one of the groups that I belong to don't invite me when they go out, I will get ofended, sorry I can't help it (and I have every right)

In this night out, not many of my friends seemed to be involved, in fact in the album only 7 people were taged, the thing is, that they have ABSOLUTELY no reason not to invite me, you see aplying my "groups rule" I came to notice that those 7 people were from at least 3 different groups, and guess what?? I belong to all of 'em... In fact there was only one of the 7 that isn't actually a friend, and even whith him we get along just fine so why?? Sure, being 7 you can tell that I'm not the only one out, my guess is that most people didn'tgo 'cause they couldn't /didn't want to, you know, being in college this things tend to happen, 'cause there's no way they organized a night out between only the 7 of them (they just wouldn't).. I'm not saying that I'm the only poor little bastard in the group, maybe somone else is in my exact same position.. wouldn't know though..
You know, it was bad enough when they didn't invite me when we were still in high school together.. Sure they could use one of their pathetic excuses like how they just plan this along the week and they don't really invite anyone, they just talk about it throw the week in the school hallways, and if you were lucky enough to be in one of those conversations, you knew that they were going out, so you had a chance to join them (this is actually true, but I think it's wrong, it's like they don't care if everyone goes or not).. But now what? you're gonna tell men that they just all happened to run into each other?? Plus not being all together in class anymore, they should start caring more about keeping in tocuh, you're not gonna tell me that they don't care about keeping in touch whith me right?? And you know what else makes it worse than before?? the fact that one of those who went out, knew about how they made me feel left out by pulling this crap.. I mean, we talked about it during the trip! (sure, not that I ever got anyone to apologyze, they just had some vbery great excuses for themselves..)
You know I hate thinking about what I wrote on the last post saying I missed them, and then it turns out that I "could" have seen them, turns out that they miss EACH OTHER too (apereantly not me, but what else is new??)
You know, I'm just super mad, but I'm gonna save all I have to say to them untill after I've talked to somone who know exactly whatthe situation is.. 'cause I don't wanna go yelling at them or anything, to find out that this time they actually had a good excuse.. I dunno, I'll start by talking to Maca and Sofi, who weren't there, but probably heard about it from Fifo, so I guess it's a good place to start..
Ain't it  just great to know that our relationship hasn't changed even though we are not together anyomre??

Est'ce-que je n'ai pas les meilleurs amis du monde???

Update: ok so today I find myself browsing through facebook, and I read a coment from one friend to another.. It was something telling him about how they didn't see each other anymore now that he had started college (all joking of course) and this other friend replyed something about how it was his fault 'cause he didn't go here or there (still joking..) and one of the here and theres was st patrick's day.. Wanna hear something funny??  last weekend, in one of the meetings they DID inivte me too, one of my friends (the one who usually plans the nights out) told us about going out on st patrick's, but he mentioned it as a maybe, 'cause he ahd to see if it wasn't too expensive and stuff like that.. When st patricks came and went I asumed that they ended up doing nothing.. Silly me to tgink that the fact they didn't tell me meant that they didn't go...  Reading this friend's wall (the planner aka Lupi) I read that another friend had asked him when was this whole irish thing, when she asked it was too late (and that was what he told her) and she replied that they could have told her.. the answer was obviously "It wasn't a matter of telling people" sure why bother telling anyone? it's not like we don't read your mind! and for those who don't know what's going on.. well WHO CARES?? you still got to go out and have some fun, so screw them! who cares if your already loosing contact after only 2 weeks of not being together in class?..
SEriously.. when my sister got to college the problem she had whith her friends was that they devoted their life to the university, so it became really hard to plan anything whith them (they still keep in touch and everything, but still, they're less in touch that they could have been) I trully hoped that my friends weren't like that, and you know what? they're not! they still go out, and even though they have the university, and are starting to make new friends, they still have save plenty of time for their friends.. For some reason this isn't helping ME to keep in touch whith them.. wonder why that could be?

A little brightness

Ok, this is a stupid useless post, I just finished a phone conversation whith my best friend Sofi, and I felt this litlle happiness "shock".. And I immediately remembered my blog, and how I usually only write the sad/bad things that happen to me.. So in a way my blog ended up being kind of a dark place (let's face it, whithout the travel posts, this blog would be extremely depressive), and I don't really like it.. I mean O know it's kinda bound to happen, given the use I give to it.. But I would however like to bright it up a bit, and, since I don't have any BIG happy things (not that the bad things I post about are that big) going on right this instant (don't get me wrong, it's not like a have a miserable life or anything like that, in fact I'm very happy, it's just I have like the happines is a general thing in regular messures, whith no big "manifests", and the sad things are more of a recurrive thing whith bigger "manifestsW than the happines.. So in the end I don't get to post any happy things..

So here's a little happy conversation whith my best friend:
So, earlier this afternoon, while I was in the University I got a text message from her asking me at what time do I get in tomorrow, from there, I started replying  and reading her replies during my breaks.. It turns out she wants to have lunch tomorrow before I get to class, you know, just to catch up.. After a while of her not answering my messages asking where to meet at at what time I decided to call, 'cause it was getting late, and we either settled today or we settled today, so I called her, and we had a little chat and settled everything.. (we settled to meet tomorrow at 12 at her house, and we'll see what to do there, but that's unimportant).. The thing is that after we hung up it left me whith this "small" feeling of happines.. We haven't seen each other since  I went to pick her up at the airport, which wasn't all that long ago, but it still left me this little nostalgyc feeling (in a good way) I haven't seen anyone from schol ever since I started College, and ever before that (well just two persons, one I crossed in the street for 3 seconds, and whith the other we took the bus from the University together but still) I really do miss my friends, I really do miss having them whith me all day, I actually miss high school.. (the funny thing is that talking to my brother today, I realised that even if I DO miss it, I wouldn't go back, don't know why.. maybe I just feel that that stage of my life is over and in a way I like that).. I don't know, I'm just glad we are meeting, and I'm glad I talked to her..
It's weird, but I feel like in a way the people I'm meeting  do not really measure up whith my "old" friends .. you'r probably thinking, sure you feel that way you'r just starting there.. But seriously I thought about it that way, and even though the quitances I'm making are nice and are the same "kind" of people my general group of friends is/was and the kind of people I generaly like, they're not the same.. I don't know it's like they kinda fell in a different "sub-category" of that type of people... Trust me, I know what I'm saying.. There  are actually 4 or 5 people that feel like the people I REALLY REALLY like, but the others (and I'm just talking about like 7-9 people in agroup of 40) don't really "fasinate" me.. I'm not saying I'm not ganna befriend them or anything, I still like them, but it feels like they'll never messure up..
See?? even for a happy post, it ended up whith a little bit of a "sad" part.. No, but seriously, I'm happy, and I'm making new friends at the University, and I like them, I'm just nostalgyc, and I know that my current friends are more my kind of people than SOME of the guys at the University.. But then  again in the conversation I had whith my brother today, he mentioned something about how he would go back to his 1st year of college 'cause he is such a different person than he was when he first started (and he's right).. And maybe that's it, maybe it's the how I'll change, that will make the rest of this group of people more my kind..
I don't know, maybe I'm just speaking nonesense this post has gonne way out of topyc, I just started making it up as I wrote it.. It truly is nothing like I pictured in my head.. (I kinda accidentaly combined the post I wanted to write today, whith anotherone I had planned in my head)

The End Of An "Era"

Last friday was my very last day of high school.. It was my last-last day of school, the same school I've been going for seventeen

years, ever since I was one year and a half old.. It actually was my second home, almost every friend I've ever had (untill this year) I met them there, the longest friendships started there, I have two friends that have been so for 17 years, which is almost all my life..I have lots of memories in there, and the thought of having to leave that place of having to start a whole new chapter of my life whith a bunch of new people is weird (and maybe even a bit frightening)
after 17 years, being there became familiar and comfortable.. now I have to head of to the new and unknown..We had a great last day, we just hanged out in the clasroom whith the teachers, and we had out uniform shirts signed, and then at lunch we had a bit of a "celebration", whith the typical last day pranks.. For example some of the other guys grabbed some toilet paper and.. well.. let's just say they re-decorated the yard.. It was almost perfect except for 2 things:1: the fact that only half the generation ended the classes that day, and the other half ends in a few weeks (It sounds weird, but it has to do whith how classes are divided)
2: the fact that me and my class had a test a
t the very last period of the very last day, which isn't the best..
After school we had planed a pool-party at my house (since it's extremely close to school) and of course I invited the guys who didn't finish on friday as well.. but in the end very few people

came(we were 7) and since it wasn't

THAT hot by the time we got to my house we didn't get into the pool (that's ok I'm thinking of throwing anotherone when the other half of the generation finishes) after that 3 of us went to another friend's house and just hanged out there till 1 o'clock or so..
It wasn't the last day I had expected,at school it was a little better than I imagined (too bad it wasn't everyone's last day) and at homw it was much worse, don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun, but it was a bit lame for a last-last school day.. It would have been much better if we had all been together (at least the ones who finished classes that day)

Merci

Third Week

Ok, so I said I was gonna write about the trip's "third week" (which is actually my first week back home), so I'm gonna, of course that since this was like a month ago, I'm gonna TRY and keep it short (it's more like a get-this-over-whith kind of deal)

Four Hours At Home
After crossing the gates that got me back home and after saying goodbye to my newest friends, my uncle got my sister and I back home and left. It was amazing how fast and how badly I started missing my trip friends, Just a few minutes after we parted, and I missed them too much for people I met two weeks ago (of course, that the fact that we practically lived together for those two weeks means a lot). After doing a little unpacking and giving my sister and her boyfriend their travel gifts, I wondered around the house and did nothing until I eventually fell asleep on the couch. Since I was never able of taking naps during the day I woke up less than an hour later, by that time I had to pack a bag, and get ready to leave to the airport again.

Bon Jovi
Yeap, I was back in the airport less than five hours later, but for a good reason, I was taking a plane to Buenos Aires to go see Bon Jovi in concert!!

After having to separet from my sister and her boyfriend the whole thing got kind of sad.. I was all alone, and the missing got bigger, maybe it was the fact that I was all alone, maybe it was the fact that I was in an airport (which by that time I had related to being whith them), or maybe it was both, but the fact is that I missed them in an abnormal way (in fact, Ididn't miss my family, which I hadn't seen in two weeks, nearly as much as I mised them, after not seeing them for 5 hours). I finally got to Bs. As. where my parents and my brother were waiting. I walked to my mother and I hugged her, and I got a little bit close to crying (it was a combination of how much I missed my group and how happy I was to see her) but I didn't.

After my arrival we inmediatlñy headed to the concert.. After a long walk we finally got there, and after a lot of waiting bon jovi finally showed up. It was a great concert, (possibly the best I've ever been to) it was about three hours of great music live, and I really enjoyed it. After the concert we went to the hotel, where my little sister was waiting, I was so tired that I didn't even give her a proper greeting after not seeing her for two weeks. The next day we had to take an early plane, so I didn't get to sleep anywhere near enough, we took the plane, we got home and I started geting ready to geting back to my normal life...

Back Home Again/Insomia
There where a lot of diferent reasons, but in my first week back home I didn't get to sleep all I needed to, which basically means that I was tired all week, it wasn't really insomia, becasue I was more than able to sleep, it's just that things came up!
The first day for example, I just hanged out at home, and before I knew it it was about 1:30 a.m (and I was already tired from the plane bcka home from U.S and not being able to sleep in Bs.As.). Anyway, this was the day that I got the best sleep, but just because I skipped first period (it was actually cause I had a test and I obviouslly hadn't studied but it was good for my sleep). I don't remember what else kept me up the other days, I beleive that one day I stayed up chating whith Lore (from the trip), and there where other reasons.. Anyway, the point is that I was really tired all week and I was about to fall asleep in every single one of my classes.

Weekwnd At Juan Lacaze
During the trip, Caro had invited me and Lore to her birthday, the first friday after the trip. I was more than happy to go, specially when I got back home and I missed them so much. But I made no promises, since she lives at Juan Lacaze which is 2 hours away from where I live (Andre was invited too, but since she lives in Juan Lacaze too, it was kind of obvious that she would)
After a few chats whith Lore both decided to go. We arranged everything, and she took a one hour bus from Sauce to Montevideo, and we took a 2 hour bust together to Juan Lacaze. It was a long but fun trip, where a lot of gossip came up of things that in the U.S. We got to Caro's and she showed us to our sooms, and about half an hour later, peoplo (caro's friends) started apearing. It was kind of fun, we got to meet new interesting people and we got to see Andre again. After some people left (Andre included) we got to play truth ot dare, which was actually just Truth since the option dare wasn't available, the whole game was kind of humiliating for me (since it showed how "unexperienced" I am) and I guess it was too for Lore (since it showed how "experienced" she was) but I don't think she cared (in fact she kept sharing even once the game was over). We were suposed to leave the next day at four ( we actually were suppoused to leave at 11 but Caroo wanted us to stay for lunch and meet her grandparents uncles etc), but she ended up convincing us to stay till sunday, and invited us to a streetlight-fest on saturday (sounds weird? yeap I know.. well, here it's how it works, if you dress whith red clothes it means "I have a bf/gf, STOP", yellow "it's complicated, PROCEED WHITH CAUTION" and green means "I'm single GO AHEAD!"). So we stayed, and during the day, we went to Caro and Andre's School's Spring Party, which was an event, where the diferent classes compited on dancing, karaoke, desining a comercial for a bus company etc. it was kind of fun, and Lore and I got to try fryed pasta (yeah, FRIED) which Andre talked about all the time in U.S and Lore and I found it very weird, and an insult to pasta, it actually wasn't that bad, but still I think it's something that just shouldn't be done (pasta wasn't meant to be fryed). Lore talked to me about geting me drunk (it would be my first time), to which I answered "maybe", she insisted on it the whole day, and by the end I knew I was up for it (not that I told her that).

So the time came to go to the party, and so we did.. We got there, and Andrea was already theree, and half way to drunkness (actually more than halfway) and Lore started drinking right away.. So by the time I decided to start, Lore was already drunk, so I only got to drink one drink before she decided to seat down, and I had to seat down whith her, cause she was bearly concious, and I couldn't leave her alone.. So after about an hour of siting (whith her head against my shoulder) my arm started feeling warm.. And that was the begining of my first time taking care of a drunk person.. I did try to find caro and her boyfriend, since I didn't know what to do, but I couldn't find them (they were probably making out somewhere) and I had to stay whith her whithout being able to go clean myself up, until they appeared..
By the time we got to Caro's my shirt jeans and shoes where vomited, and Lore was wearing my sweater which she vomited on before entering the house..

We left the next day at four, we got to the bus terminal, I walked her to a bus stop that got her back to Sauce and took a cab back home, of course that the hole way we laughed while I told her all the things she didn't remember about the night before, untilshe fell asleep and I just stuck to my iPod and the book I had..

So in conclussion, it was agreat trip, and a great new experience and a totally new way to spend my weekend, and I got to meet some new people, which I really liked (Caro's bf (whith whom we spent the whole weekend) was actually very nice for example), and I really enjoyed it..

Merci(I'm sorry, I didn't manage to make it short at all)

Second Week, Orlando & Miami

Orlando
We got to Orlando, and we rented a van, and somehow (I'm still not sure how) we managed make all the bags and all of us fit inside. We drove to the hotel to leave our stuff and maybe change, and then we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. On this day we had the worst rain ever, (not very suited to walk arround a theme park) fortunatly the rain weather got beter by the time we finished eating (whoch was the first thing we did once we got there), it was still raining, but it was a very small insignificant rain, and trying to find the bright side, I decided that since there was a bad weather the lines would be smaller.

After the park we shoped a little and we bought pizza to eat at the hotel. The whole ride on the van the other boys dedicated to make fun of me behind my back (this time they where laughin AT me), probably believing I was stupid enough not to hear them, that's why when we got to the hotel I had dinner whith the girls, and we just complained about how immature and annoying they were behaving (to be fair, during the conversation Fede threw a few coments saying that it had been enough and that they were being mean, and I believe he ment it, but then he just started laughin which kind of made it all worthless). At this dinner I started to bond more whith all the girls, specially whith Caro (It's not like I got along whith her better than all the other girls, but I went from disliking her a bit, to liking her very much). During the hole dinner, Fede and Joaco knocked on the girls door trying to apologyze and to talk to me, but I just didn't wanna talk at the moment. When I got to my room they both apologyzed, I got to tell them a part of whath I though, but not everything (I never get to say everything I want to) I never said I forgave them , but I never said I didn't and I eventually ended up forgiving them (but since I didn't get to tell them all I wanted to tell them, the whole episode still bothers me a bit). The other guys never apologyzed (it's ok I never cared about them anyway) I remember seeing Federico pointing at me whith his head trying to get them to apologyze to me (probably thinking I didn't see it), even though I know what he did was good it kind of bothered me, I didn't want to have an uncomfortable talk whith people I don't care about, so the minute I saw the gesture I got up and left the table (I didn't want to give them the chance to talk to me). It's not like I had any kind of problem whith these guys later on, but we did relate very little, and even whith Fede and Joaco I stoped geting along as well as I did at first.

The day after we went to MAGIK KINGDOM!!!!! We rode a lot of games, and when we had time for us to go do whatever we wanted (inside the park of course) I decided to go whith Maru and Laura (since we wanted to go the same things), at a time we crossed ways whith the guys, and Fede invited me to join them.. 1st, I didn't want to, 2nd they were going to ride some of the roller coasters we had already rode, and I rather ride different things once rather than one twice. So I declined the offer, but I don't know why I ended up feeling like if I had to HAVE said yes (even if I didn't want to, I felt like the right thing to do was for me to go interact whith the other boys).. I still didn't go whith them.. After Magic Kingdom, we went to Orlando Premium Outlet, where we all bough a LOT of stuffs and had dinner there.
Our last day in Orlando, we went to Universal's Island of Adventure, where the Wizarding world of Harry Potter is!!! We started walking throw the attractions, geting into almost every good attraction, the whole way I went convincing Lorena and Andrea (mostly Andrea, Lorena ended up helping me convince Andrea) to get into every Roller Coaster or shaky ride there was, which I managed to do, but she dedicated every reller coaster or attraction to yell at me and curse, for geting her there (of course, all joking). We finally got to HP, where I took about 130 pictures (which isn't all that much considering how much I expected to get there). I spent my free time whith Laura and Maru (an other HP fan) geting into the attractions we didn't get to ride whith the group, and visiting the stores. I also had my first BUTTERBEER!! whith Maru. We went back to the hotel, where Lau, Maru, Lore, Andre, Fede, Joaco and I went to the pool. After we all showered, we had dinner at Planet Hollywood.
the next day we got up early,we rented an SUV and (whith it and the van) we headed to Miami

Miami
We made a couple of stops on our way, one to buy some snacks, and the other one at the sawgrass outles where we had lunch and did our last shopping (until the free shop at the airport once we got back of course).

We got to Miami on the afternoon, we left our stuff at the hotel and went for a walk at the Ocean Drive, and we had dinner there, that night at the hotel, I stayed at Lore, Caro and Andre's room where I found out that Andre was a big reader, and we had a long talk about which books we each had read, I already liked her very much (in a friendly way) and after this conversation I ended up liking her more than a lot (in a friendly way), she ended up being the one I liked the most.

The next day, Fede and the other guys woke me up arround 6 to go down to the beach, we ended up going arround 7, we just sat by the shore watching the dawn (the most beautiful one I have ever seen) and then, once the sun was entirely up Fede, Gaston, Juan M. and I (Joaco and Enzo went back to the hotel) started to walk on the beach and we ended up geting into the water, and then we went back to the hotel to eat the breakfast that Claudia and Bea brought to our rooms and then we went back to the beach whith all the guys, Lore, Caro, and Andre, Bea and Claudia joined us later, and last but not least Maru, and Laura, these last two came down by the time Andre and I were going up to the pool, and Caro had already gone up to take a shower and dress up (needless to say that the 2nd time we went to the beach I spent whith the girls because that option was now available). After the beach and pool we showered, dressed and got ready to go out for lunch and to drive around Miami, but before we left, I found out that Fede had hurt hiss foot playing whith the guys arround the pool, this delayed our exit, since we had to wait for a doctor to look at him. Once the doctor came, Fede and Bea went to the hospital, and the rest of us went to see Miami. After our little tour, we all met at the hotel, and we loaded our bags into the cars and left to the airport. In the way we passed by an Uruguayan "restaurant" called "El Rey Del Chivito" (where they obviously selled "Chivitos") which was kind of cool, and Would have been cooler, if we hadn't had lunch, and if we weren't leaving (we all were missing food from home). After a long plane flight we finally got home, were I was received by my sis and my uncle (the rest of my family was in Buenos Aires). On my way out of the airport, I managed to cross ways whith Maru, Lore, and Andre and I managed to say goodbye to all of them who were the ones I cared about saying goodbye to the most (them and Fede, but I crossed the gates to were we met whith our familys whith him so it's ok)

It was a great trip, I really njoyed it, and I've made some of the most intresting frindships I've ever had, and I hope I can keep in touch whith most of these people..

Merci!!!

P.S -the bird bites- Even though the trip actually ended here there's gona be a "third week" post coming soon..

Second Week, New York

New York
After a long but fun train ride, we got off at the Penn Station, after leaving our stuff at the hotel, we had lunch and headed of to visit the Rockefeller Center, which where we didn't get to see the skating-rink and the golden statue because there was going to be some kind of exposition there and everything was covered up, so we headed to the Empire State, and we got to the observation deck (of course), unfortunately some of my companions didn't get to see the city at night from up there (some of us had already seen it before), but we got to see it at noon, and we got tosee how the lighst started to turn on, ass the sun got closer to the horizon. After that, we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe to have dinner, there I saw a great collection of the Beatles that I hadn't seen before (this was one of the few things that were new to me)

The next day we got up and got into one of those double decker buses that give you a tour around the city, and we got of at the Natural Hisory museum where we had to

wait cause we got there early. In these museum was when I started to get along whith the one person Ihad had the least contact whith so far, Andrea, we kind of got "lost" together and we started to goof around the museum trying to find the exit as Andrea used me as her fotographer, I discovered that she's a really funny person who laughs pretty easily (If I had let myself, I'm sure I would have developed a minor crash on her). Afterwards we went to the Metropolitan Museum (which is awesome). And after some more time at the double decker Lore, had a pretty bad asma attack, the double decker had to stop until the ambulance got there, and she left whith one of our chaperons to the hospital, the rest of us, got of the double decker a bit later and started walking to the theatre to see mamma mia. I was really afraid

that Lore and the cordinator weren't going to make it to see the show, (and even if they did, I was affraid that they wouldn't think of asking for the tickets at the front desk were we left them so that they could get them), but they got there in time and they got the tickets and we all watched the musical together and no one missed

anything. After that, we had dinner at the Friday's across the street (yum)

- Something I didn't tell you is that after Baltimore each day one of us (kids) had to write a little description of what we did that day for our chaperons to post on the trip's blog.. the third day on New York was my turn to writ, so I'll just translate what I wrote (I wrote in spanish) here..(what's writen betwwen { } is what was censored on the blog¬¬, and the

basically and in theory are written in capital leters becasue it was an inside joke between me and lorena) -
"Well, First of all I would like to send my regards to all the familys. Today was our last day in N.Y. We had a very rainy day, the worst one so far. {We were suposed to leave the hotel at 8:00.. at 9:30 we left, this was the begining to what was BASICALLY and IN THEORY a "day of delayments", as Andrea said earlyer today.} After

vising the statue of liberty, we dedicated the rest of the day to shopping, we had lunch at McDonald's and dinner at a place called Jeckyll & Hyde, inspired in the History of Dr. Jeckyll. The place had a gloomy decoration which generated too many screams in behalf of some of my companions. There was a lot of spectacle

and a great part of it dedicated to us, "the Uruguayans from the Alianza". The food was delicious, even though there was more spectacle than food. It was very entertaining. Once again my regards to everyone, and specially my family."..(let me clarify, the one who screamed too much was andrea)

After I wrote that the other boys and I got together in my room and started talking and joking, (again typical guy talk which I don't like). Since they saw I was quiet and I wasn't geting much involved in the jokes they tryed to make me talk and to say some of the grose things they said, and it all made me feel very uncomfortable, they started making jokes about everyone, but specially me, I didn't like the jokes, but I just laughed whith them since they weren't trying to laugh at me but whith me.. I think that this was the night they fully understood that I'm weird....

The next day we woke up early and took a plane to Orlando..

Merci

First Week

okey, so here's the trip's post... (for those of you who don't know I took a trip to the U.S in these last 2 weeks whith a travel group, so basically it was me and a bunch of strangers)

Saturday 18th
It all started three saturdays ago the day after my birthday party (well, it actually started months ago when I got the mail inviting me to the trip). I had one thousen things to do that day, haircut, pack the bags, get to the class I have on saturdays, write the letter.. somehow I managed to finish just in time to get to the airport...

All the time we had to wait in the airport I spent it whith my family, avoiding my travel companions, partly because meeting new people is hard for me (I'm too shy), and partly cause I wanted to spend as much time whith them as I could before I had to leave (it was ok since most of them were whith there families as well, of course). The time finally it came when we had to get to the gate, so I said goodbye to my family and headed myself to the unkown, my travel group..

While we went throw the whole security part I was very quiet, not participating of any conversation, but throwing a few coments when I was directly spoken to. When we got to the free shop I somehow ended up walking arround whith 2 of my travel companions, Fede and Joaco, (I don't like using real names, but I'm not about inventing names for 11 people) who also happened to be the ones I was going to have to share rooms whith. So we started talking and I got my first REAL contact with my travel group.. then we headed of to the gate were we met whith the other boys from our group, Enzo, Juan Martin and Gaston, and we got into a conversation thet I wasn't really interested in (the typical guy talk) so I just nodded and laughed when I was supsed to. We hardly spoke to the girls at first (we were seating in diferent parts of the airport)
The time came for us to get into the plane, where I got the first real contact whith one of the girls from our group, Laura, who was the youngest of the girls and who ended up`being the one I got along whoth the least (we got along very well, but not as much as I got along whith the other
girls).

Sunday 19th
After the flight, we finally got to Baltimore, and we took 2 vans to get to the school where we met whith our host familys and we each headed to their respective houses. My family was nice, and they had a nice house, the kid's father and step mother were very good to me, but the kid was very shy and payed little atention to me.

Monday 20th
The next day we got to the school where I met whith my group again, and I got to meet their respective hosts, who were all very nice (most of them nicer than mine ¬¬).

When the bell rang we all had to split again and go to our hosts' classes. I was shocked by their tecnollogy (I knew they were advanced in that subject but not that much) the fact that they had a projector in every class, and that in a lot of other classes they had a giant touch screen conected to the pc, which made the blackboards they had useless. I had to take spanish, american goverment, biology and Fundamentals of Art.

Spanish was easy (dah), american goverment was borring, at biology I didn't have to do a damn thing, and art seemed an interesting class, at this class I got to meet a typical nerd from the movies who was very nice to me and who I really liked (I'm a nerd too so..) it was fun and interresting talking to her... After that my host, his cousin/friend and I walked to his house (it was very hot so I got really tired)

Tuesday 21st
The day after that, we went to an aquarium just the uruguayan kids and our chaperons, Bea and Clau, and we got to see a dolphin show which was really good and really funny and really cute.

Here I started geting along whith my group, specially whith Fede and Maru (who were the ones I got along the best during the 1st week), and I STARTED not liking very much another of my companions, Caro, because she complained a lot and for what she said when she talked about her life back home (for example how she talked about the fact that she cheated on her boyfriend about 12 times)

After that I went whith some of the guys and on of their hosts to the mall where I got my new IPOD TOUCH!!:D yeay

Wednesday 22nd

On wednesday we want to washington D.C. (again, just chaperons and us)

It was great, eventhough I'd already been to D.C. There weren't a lot of new things, but there was something I liked very much that I hadn't done before, we got to go to the post office's enclosed balcony, and I got to see almost the whole city from there, and it was beautifull.

Thursday 23rd
On thursday we went to visit an Elementary school and a middle school in Baltimore.

And in the middle school we went in to a few classes to talk about Uruguay and ourselves which got really borring after the 3rd of 4th time of saying exactly the same...

It was here, were I started geting along whith, Lore (another from my group), in fact, at this point there was just one person whith whom I hadn't really talked more than 2 sentences in a row, (her name is Andre)

Afterwards we all (hosts included) met in the

house of somone's host and had a pizza party, and they gave a gift-bag to each of us and our respective hosts gave each of us a little speech. Francly I was a bit nervous about what was my host gonna say given that we had almost no relationship at all, but he managed pretty well, in fact, if I hadn't told my group that we had virtually no relation, they probably would have thought that we got along AT ALL.. And after that we went bowling!! I didn't actually play but I did learn how to keep score and I kept score for one of our groups (we were too many so we had to plit in diferent groups)

Friday 24th
On our last day at the school we went to some clases (spanish history etc), to talk abotu Uruguay and ourselves (again), and we went to a music class

were the band played our national hymn. And we had to stay after school to a Spanish Club, to talk about us and our country (AGAIN), but it was cool cause I got to see my nerd friend again and I got her facebook name to keep in touch (I was afraid I wasn't gonna see her again before we left and I wasn't going to get her facebook name)
After that a few of us (Uruguayans) and our hosts (mine actually didn't join us)

went to an icream and snowballs place and us uruguayans had our first snowballs..

Afterwards we ALL went to eat chinese (deaugh), were I got to eat my very first fortune cookie! and then lasser taggin! which was fun even though my team lost both times and I ranked 27th and 18th (or so) out of 30 (or so)

Saturday 25th
On saturday we woke up and immediatly headed to the train station where my

group and I were going to take a train to New York, there were a lot of hugging and kissing from my friends and their hosts (because this was the last time we were going to see them). And then we had to get to the train so everyone said goodbye

and we got to were only passangers could go and when we were about to get to the train we saw the hosts waving hands in the distance, which was very touching (in my case not because of my host, because I got along whith all the other hosts better)

I know that I've talked too much about this (and it's only the 1st week), but well, it was a very important trip to me, and I know you probably don't care when was it exactly that I started getting along whith each person, but I do, and it's my blog, and as I've said before, I write to please myself not you (of course that if you like what I write all the better, but if you don't I'm fine whith that)

well, Merci if you read this whole thing from begining to end!!
